Fahmaan Khan is one of the most popular faces on Television in recent times. The actor rose to fame with his stint in ‘Imlie’ and has now gone ahead to be loved by millions of people all over the country. Fahmaan, who is currently essaying the role of ‘Ravi’ in Colors TV’s show Dharampatni got in an exclusive conversation with India Forums some time back and poured his heart out to us.
Talking to us, Fahmaan revealed being offered the character of ‘Kabir’ in Zee TV’s popular show ‘Ishq Subhanallah.’ Fahmaan said, ”After my stint in Kya Qasoor Hai Amla Ka,’ I received decent recognition in the industry. So after the show ended, I started getting calls for other shows too. But, I had a set budget in my mind. After the show ended, I thought to myself that the next show I will do will be in a lead role and I’ll charge more than I charged for my last show. There was no body to tell me that this is not how it works. People were offering me lead roles, but with lesser money. I was then offered Ishq Subhanallah, to play the character of Kabir but the money that was offered to me was less. I refused the show because of the budget. After a while, the offers stopped. 8 months later, I suddenly realised that no one is now offering me work, no one is calling me for any more shows.”
Further, we asked Fahmaan which was that one show he regrets rejecting and the actor said, ”Ishq Subhanallah, I should have done it. But good I did not, I learnt something out of that experience.” The actor further revealed that he was also offered Dil Dosti Dance. He said, ”I have never said this to anyone, but when I first came to Mumbai, when I was 16-17 years old, I was offered Dil Dosti Dance. But, I was naive and young, I rejected the show saying that I will do a film. I was said that if I do the show, I will be able to buy a house and car in Mumbai in just a year. But I was adamant on doing a film. I was immature, I was young. But again, I think of that too as something good that happened to me. If I would have done that show, I would have gotten this fame 10 years ago, but I am sure, I would not have been able to handle it as a 16 year old.”
