Actor Romiit Raaj, who is currently working in Rajan Shahi’s popular show Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai as Rohit, shares his Diwali plans. ”Diwali to me means meeting and celebrating with your close ones. Lots of fun and laughter and of Couse lights and diya and beautiful decor .It’s indeed a vibe we wait for all year long as Diwali is the most important Indian festival.
At home Diwali is celebrated every year the same way. Post shoot catching up with friends and family; Dressing in my best Indian attire and fun. I don’t play cards like a lot of people. And I advocate a cracker free Diwali. We can see the harmful effects of smoke & pollution for next one year. If one day we are more careful we will surely make a good impact.”
He also adds,”It’s meant to be a festival of lights and we should celebrate it with lights, diyas and flowers. The amount of money wasted on crackers should be donated to the less privileged.”
On diwali traditional dressing is the order of the day. Romiit is someone who loves traditional attire. He says,”My wife Tina and I love dressing up and despite our hectic schedules we take time to dress up and be a part of the vibe and feel great. My wife is the force behind every celebration at home.”
Diwali celebration is not complete without sweets. So what kind of mithais and delicacies do you love to splurge on during Diwali? Romiit says,”I love Indian Mithai like Badam Barfi,Dry Fruits ladoo, jalebi & Boondi ka Ladoo. For those few days I just forget my diet!”
The whole house is lit up with lights and flowers. The festival vibes are so infectious. I honestly feel it’s my favourite festival. My wife Tina is great at organising everything. She is the force behind every celebration at home.

I honestly feel it’s my favourite festival. My wife Tina is great at organising everything. She is the force behind every celebration at home. Diwali is also the time when people indulge in gifting. We like to stick to traditional mithais , because I feel that’s one time we should forget our diet and enjoy the festivity like old times and in traditional way.”
Romiit also shares his memorable Diwali. “My favourite Diwali memory is the 1st one with my wife Tina and my mother. My mom had gone crazy gifting people and celebrating us! She had also organized a lovely family lunch. And then my daughter’s first Diwali. My mom celebrated that in a grand way . We had decorated the house with flowers and diyas. My mother cooked for everyone and we had a great time chatting with friends and listening to music all night.”
