Srishti Jain: Over time, I’ve learnt not to take work back home

Srishti Jain, who rose to fame with Star Plus Meri Durga, is currently seen playing a negative lead in Zee TV’s Kundali Bhagya. India Forums contacted the actor to learn more about playing negative characters and doing Punjabi films.

Playing a negative character, does that take a beating on you, or do you never take work back home?

Over time, I’ve learnt not to take work back home, and as an actor, one really needs to train the mind to detach from certain things quickly to ensure they don’t affect us adversely. Honestly, the creative person in me is really enjoying Monisha because peeling off her layers one by one is just teaching me more about myself as an actor.

You have also delved into Punjabi cinema. Do we see more projects of yours there?

You might see me in more Punjabi films. I truly enjoyed doing Junior; it was a beautiful experience!

Films to TV was an easy decision once actors got films; TV was never their choice.

Why would it be a difficult decision? TV is the reason I am where I am; all the love and support I get comes from TV. TV is home, and I don’t think it’s ever a tough decision to come back home, does it?

Next what?

Right now, I’m enjoying what I’m doing, but I have many things planned for what’s next! As they unfold, you’ll find out!

As an actor, what’s one of the biggest blessings you have?

There are so many, but I think the biggest blessing is the insane amount of love, support, and prayers I receive on a daily basis from people! It seems unreal sometimes because I always sit and think that I don’t even know these people personally and that they love me so much! How?! I’m just grateful! Extremely grateful!
