Tanya Abrol on playing Laal in Ravi Dubey and Sargun Mehta’s Show Badall Pe Paon Hai

Tanya Abrol’s new role in Badall Pe Paon Hai has been both fun and exciting. She shares what drew her to the character, saying, “Laali is an unconventional character, and I felt I was the perfect fit for it.”

She says, “Portraying a 35-year-old woman who prefers to be called a “Ghar Kaam Expert” rather than a “bai,” Tanya brings both humor and depth to the role, adding a unique charm to the screen.

Laali is quirky and meticulous in her work, going as far as sending rate cards over WhatsApp for every task she performs. Married but childless, she has a playful suspicion towards her husband, constantly video-calling him to keep an eye on his activities. The character is full of life, making her both relatable and entertaining, with many layers to explore.

The actress is also thrilled about the team behind the show, adding, “I am very happy to work with Ravi and Sargun and also to do this role. I can’t wait to entertain the audience with all the fun, entertainment, and love.”

Reflecting on the changing landscape of television, she, who has been part of hit shows like Best of Luck Nikki and Palampur Express, comments, “Back then, TV was the top source of entertainment. Now, with OTT platforms, things are different. I feel TV is in a transition phase, but shows like Badall Pe Paon Hai can help bring back its momentum.” With its fresh and quirky approach, combined with the authentic backdrop of Chandigarh, she believes it could be a game-changer in today’s television scene.
