Bigg Boss has been one of the biggest reality shows on Indian television. While the TV version has 17 successful seasons, in 2021 the show also got its digital version called Bigg Boss OTT. The first season was hosted by Karan Johar and actress Divya Agarwal emerged as the winner. Bigg Boss OTT 2 appeared last year with Salman Khan as the host, and YouTuber Elvish Yadav taking the trophy home. Now, with rumors around Bigg Boss OTT 3 starting to pick up, there were speculations that the new season might air from 15th May this year. However, a source has exclusively confirmed to Indianexpress.com that the makers are not planning to bring a season 3 for Bigg Boss OTT.
According to the source, Colors TV and Jio Cinema decided they don’t want to get Bigg Boss OTT this year because the show’s audience is facing saturation. Bigg Boss 17 just concluded in January with Munawar Faruqui becoming the winner. Now the gap between the last season and when the digital one will start is very small, so to reduce this over exposure, Bigg Boss OTT 3 might not happen this year.
Though all discussions and conversations are still in premature stage, and there is no official confirmation from the production house Banijay Asia, Colors TV, or Jio Cinemas on the same.
