Indian Matchmaking Season 3 trailer: Sima Taparia is finding matches in London, fans say ‘the guilty pleasure is back’

Sima Taparia returns to find matches for Indians across the globe and this time, her focus is on the single Indians in the UK. The trailer of the third season of Indian Matchmaking was released by Netflix recently and it has Sima Taparia interacting with single men and women, and their parents as she presents them with potential rishtas. Sima Taparia shot to fame with the first season of the show after viewers across the globe learnt how arranged marriages in India are orchestrated by matchmakers.

The earlier seasons of the show have been criticised by many for glorifying archaic methods when it comes to finding matches, although a big part of the audience likes to watch the reality show for its so-bad-its-good content.

Fans took over the comments section as they expressed their excitement for the arrival of the new season. One of the fans commented, “Oh the guilty pleasure is back!!!” Another fan wrote, “Cringe. Gonna watch it.” Aparna Shewakramani, who appeared on the first two seasons of the show, and eventually broke ties with Sima posted in the comments section, “We must know, do the stars actually align?! 💫”

Indian Matchmaking first launched in 2020 and was one of the many shows that gained a wide fanbase during the pandemic. In an earlier conversation with Today, Sima spoke about her role in the process of matchmaking and said, “When the stars are aligned, that is the story. This is all destiny, nothing is in my hands. If the destiny is there, if the couple is aligned together, then it happens. But my way is just to show them the biodata and to match them, that’s all. In India, they say birth, marriage and death — these three things are not in our hands. These three things God has taken (and) a human being cannot do anything.”

Indian Matchmaking Season 3 starts streaming on April 21.
