Star Plus’ show Anupamaa is one of the most popular shows on Television. The show has been numero uno on the TRP charts for a long time now and has reigning the Indian Television. Earlier last year, Paras Kalnawat, who essayed the character of Samar in the show was shown the exit door and was removed from the show. This went on for a long time, where Paras too levied certain allegations on the production house. However, post Paras’ exit from the show, Sagar Parekh was roped in to play the character of Samar in the show.
Talking to us on the same, Sagar revealed how, when he got to know that he will be playing the character of Samar in the show, he lost sleep. The actor said, ”I was unaware about which show I was shooting for and what will the character be. However, before my mock shoot, I was told that I will be auditioning for Anupamaa. I was nervous. After my mock shoot, when I was finally selected for the show, my creatives briefed me about my character and revealed that I will be playing the character of Samar in the show and that I will be replacing Paras. Well, he has done a fantastic job in that character and he has a huge fan following as Samar. He has created that for himself and it was really tough for me to step into his shoes and make the regular audience believe that even I can be Samar. So, it was really different for me because I had never done a replacement role before but like I said, DKP is one of the best production to work with and everyone was very supportive. I still remember I had lost my sleep. I remember I had called my mother and I would tell her how I fear that people will not accept me, my career will be over, I will not be able to prove my talent because people have already accepeted Paras as Samar but I was fortunate enough and by god’s grace, everything worked in my favour.”
