Shardul Pandit on doing two shows ‘Tere Ishq Mein Ghayal’ & ‘Swaraj’ at a time

Shardul Pandit is known for his impeccable hosting skills. He is a host, an RJ and an actor. The actor is currently juggling between two shows. After a lot of contemplation, Shardul opted to do a mythological show named ‘Swaraj’ on DD.

Speaking to India Forums, when asked about him taking up a mythological show, Shardul said, “I have received calls to do mythological and historical characters for a very long time. I remember there were two shows on Krishna being made while I was doing ‘Sidihi Vinayak’ and two production houses wanted me to give a look test and take up the shows. I was unsure though as I never thought I’d be a fit. This time around it was a different case as it’s a government-approved project that says stories of real freedom fighters. I am absolutely loving the long monologues in Marathi and the scale at which we are shooting right now in the outskirts.”

On juggling between two shows, ‘Swaraj’ and ‘Tere Ishq Mein Ghayal’, Sharddul said, “A day ago I was a werewolf in ‘Tere Ishq Mein Ghayal’ and today I’m a freedom fighter. Due to the roots of the character in Maharashtra, this is my tribute to our HINDU heroes.”

I have known Karan for a while so the show was just a platform to probably spend more buddy time and Reem is very sweet, a lovely person and a co-actor… it has been an amazing journey.

We asked him about his experience shooting with Karan Kundrra and Reem Sheikh, and he quipped, “I have known Karan for a while so the show was just a platform to probably spend more buddy time and Reem is very sweet, a lovely person and a co-actor… it has been an amazing journey.”

When asked about his thoughts on less screen space and whether it affects him, he said, “As long as the character allows me to act and show my skills and the screen space allows me to do some good work and leave a mark on people’s minds, I have no problem. We as actors are all greedy and there are no two ways about it but for me leaving an impact on audiences’ minds matters more than anything. I want to be remembered as an actor and ‘Swaraj’ has beautifully allowed me to do the same.”

Shardul was also seen Bigg Boss 14 among various projects.
